WLAN Security Megaprimer Part 36: Insecurity In 3rd Party Wi-Fi Utilities

In this video, we will look at how 3rd party utilities can mess up your wireless security configuration. Most of the 3rd party utilities want to work perfectly out of the box as most users might not be very technical. Thus more often than not, these leads to compromise in security. We will see how the default options of Wireless Utilities shipped with the cards are insecure and in this specific case have "certificate verification" off when using PEAP.

We would recommend that you use the native utilities and configuration managers which ship with your operating system to configure your wireless network securely, rather than depend on the abstraction provided by these 3rd party utilities.
